Seeing as this is a woman author I expected more sensual words. I, being a lesbian and submissive, prefer woman/woman stories with actual experience and this story felt as if a man wrote it just to get his rocks off. There was no bondage, D/s aspect other than "Mistress" being thrown around, and the first 85% of the story was fake fantasies. I understand this premise to find a basis of where the M/s relationship should build from but there was no need to so much draw out bull to develop a character.The two stars is 1 - woman author with lesbian characters, 2 - finally lesbian sex; there aren't that many stories out with lesbian characters. The sex moved way too quickly, there really was no buildup (Mistress drags the paddle over my bare buttocks as I anticipate what is to come next. Is she really going to hit me? What have i gotten myself into? The leather is cold and my nerves are running wild. -whack- the sensation of pain and pleasure mix and my ass raises off the table silently begging for more....), and the characters switched, in the beginning Desiree was the Mistress then a 1/4 through story Devon is the Mistress so that didn't help much.
Suggestion - go to a BDSM club, dungeon, meet-up to find out what one is truly writing about; and go more than once

The S&M Club is a highly erotic, sexually charged and completely fascinating exploration into the private lives of two dancers at a Los Angeles club. Lindy Hudis writes about these dancers' actual sexual experiences and fantasies in a language that is explicit, real and edgy.
While Hudis can obviously write alluring, tantalizing and just plain hot, sexy stuff, she really distinguishes herself by telling sexual stories in compelling ways and attaching those stories to the lives of women that we grow to care about. Los Angeles is full of beautiful women who dream of glamorous lives making movies. Sadly, many of these women fail to make it. The S%M Club poignantly captures some of the realism and sadness of those gorgeous women who don't make it to the silver screen.
This book certainly has alot of potential. But ....
I found it rather tiresome in some spots, the girls giving each other details encounters of each others previous scores. WHich were hot and saucy at times.
I didnt enjoy the characters or storyline. This book wasnt for me. But the writing was well put forth with no errors, and as I said this has good potential with more depth and a better underlying storyline.
With a title like The S&M Club, one would assume that this book includes an abundance of kinky BDSM scenarios, but sadly that is not the case. At Laura's Lair, a private bondage club in Hollywood, Desiree, a sub-trainee, meets with her trainer, Mistress Devon, for the first time. After gruffly ordering the newbie sub around a bit and having her get on her hands and knees in her underwear, Mistress Devon instructs Desiree to reveal her darkest fantasies.
From then on until the last several pages, the book primarily consists of both Devon and Desiree sharing fantasies and past sexual adventures nonstop. The sexual exploits are fairly kinky but not BDSM oriented other than some light spanking, and they are told in a breathless fashion that is slightly superficial. When it finally looks like Devon is going to introduce Desiree to a little pain and pleasure play, instead she ties her spread-eagle to a table and brings her to multiple orgasms with her tongue and a vibrator. Before Desiree is fully recovered she is released from bondage and instructed to administer a severe paddling to her mistress then make love to her with a strapon - huh? A couple paragraphs after their coupling the book concludes with "And so began the adventures of Devon and Desiree!"
If someone had loaned me their copy of The S&M Club to read I probably wouldn't have kept at it beyond page ten or so. But as a reviewer I have to read the entire book in order to be able to provide fair and balanced guidance to prospective readers. There is virtually no plot to this book, its characters are one-dimensional, and the way the sex scenes are written they are not particularly erotic. I doubt that I would recommend this book to anyone, but certainly not to lovers of BDSM fiction.

I loved this book! The scenes were so realistic to the point I called my husband and...well...let's just say it was steamy!!!
Not very erotic. There's too much talking and not enough showing. I will not be reading the next in this stupid series.
The story kept switching back and forth between the two characters, but at least once it appeared the character switch was attributed to the wrong character. If you want great literature, keep looking. If you are looking for some explicit sex to kill time, this works.
Lindy S Hudis takes the reader from the first encounter of Devon, the voluptuous red-head dominant, to Desiree, the shy blonde submissive-in-training, on an erotic tale of adventure and sexual discovery. From the cramped bathroom of a jet sweeping across the country, to the backseat of a New York taxi, to a well-worn table in a hallowed library Devon and Desiree describe their personal experiences and their deepest fantasies. But these tales are only a prelude to what both desire, each other. The reader will be breathless with erotic anticipation to discover if they succeed.
